Rip Wahlberg grew up in Trumbull, CT. After high school he attended Southern Connecticut State University. At that time he met Ann-Marie and in their early 20’s they married. They lived in CT near New Haven, attended the New Haven Vineyard, and began to raise a family.
At the time of their first child’s birth in 1997 God began to re-affirm the call He had on Rip’s life for ministry. This lead to an extended season of life in which they served extensively in the New Haven Vineyard, and were being trained in leadership for ministry. After thinking that they were to plant a church in the Fairfield Cty area of CT, in time it became clear that where God was actually wanting them was here in Lancaster.
After arriving in Lancaster the Wahlbergs got connected into Lancaster Vineyard and looked for a place where they could serve. After some time, God began to reveal to Rip and the leadership of the church that He had ordained a transition which eventually took place in 2009. Rip was ordained by the Lancaster Vineyard in May of 2009 and became the lead pastor of the church (now Sanctuary – A Vineyard Church) in October.
Rip remains bi-vocational for now, running a painting business as well as leading the church. He and Ann-Marie enjoy their family of 5 children. He enjoys reading extensively, cycling, spending time with family and friends, and talking with people about the Kingdom of God. Most of all he loves spending time with Ann-Marie, especially out at a local restaurant or coffee shop.
