Sanctuary – A Vineyard Church Lancaster Pa. was started in February of 2003 by the Shannon family as Lancaster Vineyard Church.  They had been sent out by the Syracuse Vineyard to plant here in Lancaster, Pa.

In the summer of 2006 the Lord brought Rip and Ann-Marie Wahlberg and their family to Lancaster from CT.  After settling into the area they began getting connected into the church and serving wherever they could.

In the fall of 2006 the Lord began to divinely speak to the Shannons and the Wahlbergs about the plans he had for each of their families.  Not knowing that God was speaking to the other, God was laying the ground work for the Shannons to move onto God’s next plans for them, and for the Wahlbergs to step into the leadership role of the church, then named  Lancaster Vineyard Church Lancaster, PA.  In the fullness of God’s time, they both realized how God had been orchestrating this all along as only He could do.  After taking some time to pray about it still, the Lord spoke, and Rip and Ann-Marie Wahlberg agreed to take the leadership role of the Vineyard church Lancaster Pa.

In time, the Vineyard church Lancaster Pa was informed of God’s plan.  A time of transition set in, and in October of 2009, the Shannon family left to go to Ethiopia where they are serving the Lord as missionaries, and Rip took over as pastor of Lancaster Vineyard Church.

God is doing a lot of exciting things here including recently changing our name to Sanctuary – A Vineyard Church (just Sanctuary for short).  We are excited about our future and what God wants to do with this church to demonstrate the reality of His Kingdom and his love to the people of Lancaster, PA.  We’d love to have you join us.
